2016. I’ve always had a deep love for pottery ever since I can remember, and my collection has only grown since. My favourite haunts used to be handicraft markets, cottage emporiums, trade fairs, local shops. Every city I visited, pottery was on my shopping list …. - Siliguri, Karaikudi, Banaras, Khurja, Madras, Calcutta, Bombay, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Delhi.

The day I discovered A Clay Story, Anumita’s labour of love, her art took my breath away. It was everything I loved in pottery … the colours, the finish, the shapes, the textures, everything. I was mesmerised that someone could just throw a lump of clay on a wheel and turn out something so beautiful, so perfect, so imperfectly perfect sometimes too. This is some of her work that I had the pleasure to shoot.
